Frequently Asked Questions
+ I feel like I’m too awkward/fat/plain/etc. when I’m on camera. How will I know I’ll look good in my photos??
Simple: my #1 goal as your headshot photographer is to build trust and confidence in you. All you have to do is show up and I will guide you through posing that brings out the best in you. If I notice you’re feeling a little stiff, we’ll go through exercises together to help you relax.
I am not a “shoot-fast-to-just-get-it done” photographer. I take my time because I know what it’s like to look at an image someone has taken of me and feel like I look awful. And I often wish they’d told me to stand up straight, suck in, fix my clothing, adjust my arms, etc.
I’ll notice all that for you so you can just focus on giving me your best smile - or smirk/smolder depending on your preference.
+ Do you provide airbrushing or retouching for my headshot?
Yes. The key to good retouching is to keep the skin still looking natural, not overly plastic. I personally edit my clients’ headshots to lighten skin imperfections and remove blemishes while making sure you still look like you.
+ Can you remove the background?
Background removal for your headshot is also available at an additional $20 per image. You would then receive an additional copy of your image with a transparent background (a file format called PNG), which is useful if you want to use your headshot on different backgrounds.
+ What locations do you provide headshot photography for?
My service areas include Jacksonville, Jacksonville Beach, Ponte Vedra, Amelia Island, Orange Park, Fleming Island, St. Augustine, and Mandarin. On-location headshot sessions cost $50 more than studio shoots.
An additional travel fee will be added if your location is more than 50 miles outside of zip code 32256.
+ What if I don’t know what to wear for my headshot photo?
Fear not! I send all my clients a “What To Wear For A Killer Headshot” guide to make sure you look professional and timeless while still maintaining your personality.
Each headshot session also includes a 30-minute style consultation so we can discuss how you want your personal brand represented in your image.
